Getting better Sainsbury's/Nectar vouchers

with sains i've noticed the more u spend the less u get.
i shop there daily whereas my mum shops there maybe once every fortnight spending about £5 but gets loads of till spits on each visit. yet i go there daily and get 1 or 2 a month offering 20p off stupid salad dressing.
I have noticed this too and, in fact, I am currently doing my own personal trial!! Sick of the stupid MOC for items I never use and double points on a £70 shop etc, I have decided to use Asda for a few weeks! I suppose this is cutting my nose off to spite my face, as I much prefer Sainsburys! I just don't like their policy of the more you spend the less you get off. So my thinking is, maybe they will try and tempt me back with some decent coupons! I shall post again if it works! But there again, I might decide I do prefer Asda and stop using Sainsburys altogether!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -

How about opening a 2nd Nectar card account and use that for small bits of shopping? You can transfer the points over to your 1st card. Takes about 2-4 weeks before you get vouchers. A few of my regular customers do this and noticed this. You still use the 1st card for bigger shops. Or do a big shop and pay for a couple of items separately using the 2nd card.
BTW you can use any of those coupons that come out of the voucher machine on any Nectar card0 -
I never get any decent vouchers. I never get any vouchers in the post (I gave permission for them to send me mail) and the best I get from the tills is 80 points when I spend £20. I'd love £5 off £50 spend (That's 10%!!!).
I don't spend a lot at sainsbury's and what I do spend is spread over the week rather than daily. That shouldn't matter, should it?0 -
I never get any either my sister gets them all the time.0

Its definatly the less you spend the more you get with sainsburys. I did my shop quite often with them, I then moved and its now the quite a way away from us so i only pop in there when we are out and about, for a quick sandwitch or drink etc and i was given a 8 pound off a 40 quid shop a few weeks back, that finished and then now been sent 10 pound off a 50 quid shop online and instore. So they will get my business online for the next four weeks and then i will !!!!!! off again ha ha'There are far better things ahead Than any we leave behind '0

Why on earth would Sainsbury issue a 1p voucher?
Whose 'brainwave' was that I wonder!0 -
I got a 4quid off a 20quid shop,happy with that0

£4 off £40 is quite common for me to get although I did get a £8 off £40 once :j0

I noticed before that most vouchers seem to come out on Mondays and Thursdays. i found that they used to do more conditional spend (£3 off £30 etc) but those seem to have dried up
Another tip is to use the self serve in the bigger stores as most people dont look to see if they ahve a voucher and you can get a wombled one!0 -

Yes it will matter, they are designed to push you up to the next spend limit. So if you are regularly spending £30-40 then they will try and push you up to spending £50 and giving you a £5 off £50 may help them do this.
If you always go in and spend under £20 then they will think its unlikely they can push you upto £50 by giving you a voucher so they will offer you a smaller voucher that pushes you spend up slightly higher than it currently is.0
