I went to the Govan (Glasgow) Toys R Us today and didn't expect them to have any left and when I was having a nosey at customer services I overheard the girl telling a customer 'that the paper hadn't delivered any but they could have the old stock of Toy Story lego'. The funny thing is that I am sure I spotted a Lego bag under the till when I went through the checkout, so my suspicious mind thinks the staff got there first.
I sent my 13 year old DS back in with two vouchers for him and his brother and the girl gave him a little bit of grief that if it had been the proper set he would only have got one, but she gave him the two anyway.

I survived the M8 snowjam 6/12/10 - 17 hrs to get home :snow_grin
Brought: To Bring! Bought: To Buy!0 -
Gutted that they're not doing a postal option for this
Started collecting the tokens before I realised it was pick up in store only. We're on Anglesey and the closest Toys R Us isn't even in North Wales, it's in Chester! The closest WHSmith is half an hour's drive away and they've always run out within a couple of hours

is it usual for them to have leftover toy story lego? The hospital shop I got them from said they disposed of all their spares at the end of the week (they gave them to the children's ward)52% tight0

I sent DH to Walton On Thames and they claim they don't have them in stock yet and are chasing them up. I bet they have them in stock out back but are too lazy to sort through their boxes. Surely they get these a few days in advance? They sure did when the mirror did them.
So it seems like a race to see who can get to the right WH Smiths at the right time to be in with a chance of getting the lego. Top marks to The Sun, WH Smiths and their Lego promotors for such great organisation!
My friend works for that store and I can confirm they did not receive any, should have arrived on Thursday but didn't turn up and the manager was chasing them with smith news and phoning every 10 mins on Sat to get them. Unfortunately smith news are awful for late deliveries. Hopefully they have their stock now.0 -

Hooray managed to get Sunday's and todays from our local WHSmiths this morning - there was a little queue outside all for the lego. Boys will be chuffed - it's a great way to get them motivated to go to school quickly, I said as soon as I've dropped you off I will wizz into town on my bike and get them - wish they did them every Monday morning!

Was walking through town yesterday when I saw a guy offering a complete stranger a NOTW. I suddenlyrealised why and made a dash for WHS. Got there and no papers left. I asked a girl who was about to open a till and she walked off to check. She asked how many I wanted so I said 2 but she still had one in her hand so when a guy who was about to queue with his son looked baffled at what I was getting, she offered the other one to him. Boy did his wee lad look excited :j DS is too young for the Lego so I may stick the spare one on the dashboard as it really is a great likeness of Mr Depp :T0

anyone who is still looking for captain jack, rather than pay the opportunistic ebay sellers, why not get one of the lego sets, there's a set with 3 mini figs for around a tenner - much better value than the ebay prices if you have a little one who loves lego mini figs. that was going to be my contingency if i couldn't get jack0

thats what we ended up doing yesterday, we got to toys r us only an hour after it had opened and they had already run out of them! probably a very clever trick of toys r us not to get many in cos then i was left with a boy desperate for jack sparrow lego lol! good job i had the 20% off voucher with me0 -
What a fiasco ! - I queued to get in the car park at Toyrs R Us in Norwich for 15 minutes at 11.15 and was told when I eventually found a space that they only had 200 and they were gone by 10.30. I know its free but how frustrating that you cannot send away like before.
Tell me about it. We were there too. Had to go into the city to WHS. Paid to park, then found they had all gone. Grrr.0
