  • Thanks everyone :) I will have a look around the net at offers and buy something next week after the evil move.

Whilst slightly off topic I recently bought a friend this cook book here.

    I can't believe that you're only troll number 35.

That makes you, like, er, older than ME - which is going some :)

  • We had the same dilemma. Looked at lots of the mini ovens and they seemed quite flimsy. Very small, and glass doors without any seal etc - looked like they would lose a lot of heat. We made do with a microwave and a slow cooker for a while but really missed being able to cook things like hm pizza, pasta bakes and oven chips etc.
Eventually bought a baby belling 2 ring cooker and oven for £40 second hand (but quite newish) from the local paper. like this one: http://www.comparestoreprices.co.uk/mini-ovens/belling-127.asp
Works as well as a full sized cooker and very happy with it.

    Hi,
I have used a combination oven, microwave and grill for about 15 years due to limited space in my kitchen. Only takes up the space of a microwave. Currently have a Sharp Jet Convection which has extra shelves so that you can cook full roast dinners without any problems.

Ditto, and the same make. Took out oven when I redid my last kitchen and replaced with the combi - never missed the oven. Lot cheaper than when I bought them - under £200 now, which sounds like a lot, but it should last for years and you can take it with you. That and a sandwich toaster with removalble plates (so you can grill as well) should cover anything you need.

We had a combination microwave/grill/oven at our old flat because there wasn't room for a full oven. When we moved here the cooker had been left, so we used that, but I really missed my combi. For things like pizza and jacket spuds, it was loads better than a regular oven. So when this over packed in I got a new combi :-D it was £100 and I love it. We'll probably get a full size oven again eventually, but I'll always have a combi as well now.
When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.

Is there anyone you could ask for a Lakeland Remoska for Christmas?

I don't have one myself but have read so many great reports on how brilliant and versatile they are. They work just like a conventional oven, but take up the space of a pressure cooker on your worktop. Ideal for feeding one person or two. They come in standard and large size, and have recently launched a mini one for single servings.

If I could justify the price (£50-ish up to around £90-ish) I'd have one tomorrow. I can't justify it as we do have a proper cooker.
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D
