Orange Network

Having been with Orange for over 10 years I have found their customer service to be diabolical !

We have 2 handsets with them and are paying £35.00 per month, they have openly admitted that there are problems in our area with 8 or 9 transmitters but seem unable to fix them

We have requested that they cancel our contracts as they are unable to provide the service they advertise and charge for, they are unable to do this as they say that the phones get used, yes they do they are mobile ! however in our area I have try calling one phone to another in both hands and its goes to answerphone !

Anyone else having problems with these idiots ???

PS, one of their technicians actually stated he was on o2 !!!

Hardly a surprise if, say, both o2 and Orange signals are good at work, but o2 is better at home. Neither network guarantees 100% coverage.

    Hello,

I have been having exactly the same problem with Orange for the past 2 months. I have spent ages on the phone with their iPhone support team. After numerous calls, I was given a discount on my monthly bill, however the problem still happens and it's getting most frustrating. I have now bought another PAYG phone to make sure that I am contactable. I spoke to them again this evening and I was told that it must be a problem with my handset. I am going to follow the advice he gave me but I am still going to pursue a complaint with their executive team and contact Ofcom.

Goodluck with your battle, I think we both may need it...

You can cancel the contract at any time but unless you've hit the mimimum terms you'll get a penalty fee for breaking the contract usually it's monthly cost x no of months left of the minimum term.

The nature of a mobile network means no network guarantees a signal everywhere, and unfortunatly your home area seems to be a black spot. However you are using the phones elsewhere so the contract is valid,

    So what are your options?

    - Wait till the repairs are done

    - Pay the termination fee move to anther network, try some PAYG sims first or ask neighbours to see what works best for your area

    - Ask Orange to release you for the contract for free, may happen, but unlikely, try contracting the executive office, there email is on here is you search

What you do is up to you, but remeber you got the handsets for free at the start of the contract and the airtime costs recovers that initial outlay be the network so they will want the payment.
