Best tariff for HTC Wildfire

Hi

Please can someone help me? I am so useless with phones and tariff, etc.

I currently have a pretty ancient Samsung mobile on Orange PAYG. I top up £10 every 4-6 weeks. At the moment I only use it to text really but would like a smart phone so I can check emails, internet etc. I do not want to play music or stream video or play games. However, I do want a semi decent camera. I also only want to spend max £150. Only Orange and Vodafone have coverage in my area but I only know about Orange plans (all the different plans confuse me so I haven't really ventured onto the Vodafone site ...)

I have seen the HTC Wildfire and think it fits the bill. It's currently £140 in Orange for PAYG. I think I would then get the Dolphin plan which gives unlimited internet and texts for £10 per month.

Is there a better (cheaper?) way to do this..

Many thanks for any advice

Well i got the HTC Desire from Orange ( which is better than the wildfire) for £16 per month for 24 Months with texts and the net plus Insurance, so just try haggling Orange, it might work out cheaper if you go on Contract

Thanks fedster. I keep reading about better deals and have no idea! I just blur when I look at the websites ... and as for places like carphone warehouse ... How are you meant to keep up?

wildfire - good phone, I've got one BUT

go and have a play with one first. If you intend to browse the web on it the resolution is pretty dire. If I would have had the chance to play first then I might not have bothered. Camera verrrrryyyyyyyyy slow to capture too.

that said in lots of other ways eg gps it brill.

might be worth waiting for the wildfire S to come out as thats much better I'm told screen wise.
