Cost of Going To Turkey
Comments

To get an idea of how much you might spend on trips maybe google Carol tayfun and take a look at what they have to offer, you can pay for trips there or before you go. We went to Olu Deniz for a week last year and did 2 trips and spent the rest of the time near the beach or at the pool.
Costs.. trips were cheap but most things cost the same as home really so just go on that kind of line to get an idea
We'd buy a big frozen bottle of water to take to the beach and then other costs is all down to how much you eat/drink.
We took Turkish Lira by the way, couldn't be bothered with the hassle of changing anything up once there to save £50 -
Generally things are cheaper in Turkey than the UK, although I do believe Olu Deniz is more expensive than some other resorts..
Rather than changing you money into lira over here thouhg just take a small amount and change the rest out there or use the ATMs to withdraw lira.
You get a far better exchange rate in Turkey and you can just change as you go along once you figure out how much you think you will go through.0 -
The exchange rate is currently around 2.4 lira(YTL) for tour pound. typical prices are.
Beer 5 YTL, lunch menu anything from 8 YTL - kebabs, chicken pitza etc. Steak dinner approx 20YTL and wine around 30lira.
Sunbeds are usually free if the beach area is in front of a bar etc provided you buy drinks/lunch etc.
The post office PTT may pay a slightley higher excahnge than the change offices. If you dont mind changing all your money in one go or a reasonable chunk of it try and squeeze a bit extra out of the change offices. No Links in Signatures by Site Rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -
Dont forget to take £10 each per person for your Visa entry at the airport into Turkey.
Have the right amount too (in Sterling), they don't like to give change!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards.
