Just wondering if anyone has been to Turkey lately and give me an idea of how much it costs. Its been a while since me and my wife have been abroad (due to ankle biters) but we have booked a weeks all inclusive stay in Olu Deniz for our wedding anniversay (no ankle biters allowed) - just dont have a clue what things cost, dont want to not take enough money but also dont want to get ripped off changing it back if I come back with lots. Any help would be most appreciated.

we were in marmaris 18 month ago, we went all inclusive but still ate out and had nights out, we found marmaris cheap compared to other destinations we have been, shops accepted english money, didnt get ripped off working out what they wanted in lira, but haggle for everthing!!we took a small amount in turkish lira and changed what other we needed over there.
you should get all the info you need on tripadvisor forums.0 -
Well we have gone Ai for last three years and are flying out in July.
Every year I take less money. Last year I think it was , a newspaper every day ( yes , Sad I know)
Two taxi fares and about four drinks outside of hotel.
Change from £40, but the hotel was 5* and we didn't buy any souvenirs.
What sort of holiday have you planed?0 -

How much what costs?
What things?
I guess it depends if you intend to stay mainly in the hotel and take advantage of the free food & drinks or if you want to venture out to eat some days.
Also, do you intend doing any trips?
Or buying anything?
Jewellery? Carpets? Clothes? Handbags?
I'm sure you could get away with spending hardly anything if that's what you wanted.0 -
Dont forget to take £10 each per person for your Visa entry at the airport into Turkey.0

we have an apartment in the area, things aren't expensive.
take sterling and convert it as you go in the resort.
it's all commission free, currently about 2.45TL to the £.0 -

I was after just an idea of what everyday stuff costs like a bottle of coke or an ice cream for example, just so I could have an idea of a comparison between UK and Turkey. I know we are going all inclusive and its just the 2 of us so just don't want to take too much or not enough.0 -
last month I was buying ice creams/lollies from the supermarket behind the beach (AZDA) for about 50p each0

We can't guess how many icecreams you are going to buy.
So only you can guess how much you are going to need.
Me! I don't buy too many coke/ice creams , there 'free' !! at the hotel , why pay again?
Also its easy to use an ATM , if you start running low.0 -

In that case, I'd either do as wallbash suggests and use an ATM or take some sterling and change it as you need it.0
