Problems with BT

Hi All
We have been with BT for the phone and broadband for many years. We moved house at the end of March and phoned BT in the middle of March to inform them that we wanted the phone and broadband at our new address. Two separate order numbers were placed and we were assured that there wouldn't be a problem. We were even told the broadband speed at our new address. We were given a date in the middle of April for the phone and broadband to be connected. That's when problems started.

The engineer arrived in the middle of April, had a look at the line box and disappeared. After phoning a few days later to ask what was happening another appointment was arranged for a week later. Another engineer came and fitted a new line to the telegraph pole but could not connect the line. The next day another engineer arrived and did some work on the line to get the phone working.

My wife has phoned BT numerous times and is getting nowhere with the broadband. Each time she has to explain the story over and over again and each time they promise the broadband will be connected within 24-48 hours!! it's a hopeless situation.

Can anyone help???

BT Retail cant promise the broadband will be connected in 24-48 hours, Unless openreach have said that is the case.

I would just go with another company, BT broadband is actually rubbish, AOL offer a better service now. I have 2 broadband connections with AOL.

    Email from AOL.

On May 17th your monthly subscription charge will reduceYour monthly subscription charge covers your broadband, line rental and inclusive calls service and is being reduced from £24.23 to £24.03 a month. That could save you £145 over 18 months compared to BT's equivalent package

    MASSIVE Saving!!!.
