Buying goods and withdrawing cash abroad - Just to make sure!!

I'm off to Corfu monday.
I hope I have all the Euros I need.
I will want to pay for meals/goods by card and may need to withdraw cash (if I have not got enough).
I have:
Nationwide Debit
Nationwide Credit
Virgin One account Debit and credit.

As I understand:o it I should pay for food/goods with the Nationwide Credit card (is this really a better option than the Nationwide Debit card???).

If I have to withdraw cash is this (Nationwide Credit) card also the best option?

Thanks in advance
Snootchie Bootchies!

The Nationwide CREDIT card makes no charges for purchases in EU land - but there is a cash advance charge and interest for ATMs. (Assuming you've had it some time - things may differ with new ones)

The Nationwide DEBIT card charges 2% for purchases in EU land plus an additional £1 for cash withdrawal

    Virgin One rates:

If you use your debit card abroad for purchases and cash withdrawals, you’ll be charged 2% of the transaction value (min £1.50, max £4) plus a 1.75% foreign exchange fee.
Credit card purchases and withdrawals abroad are subject to a 2.65% foreign exchange fee, plus the additional £1.50 charge for withdrawals.

I'll leave you to work it out

according to the website nationwide will charge the following

    credit card , 0% on spending , cash withdrawl 2.5% £3min
debit card , 2% on spending , £1 per transaction cash withdrawl

depends how often your likely to use it , i work in a travelmoney bureau and when i ask customers they dont realise how often the use it and how much it all adds up

you might want to get a prepaid reloadable debit card if you havent already got your euros

Yes, you get unlimited commission-free purchases (until at least July 31st - depending upon when your card was originally issued, as Terms & Conditions appear to have changed on more recently-issued cards)

If I had to, I'd use the Debit Card - 2% plus £1 ATM withdrawal fee.

The Credit Card will be 2% plus 2.5% cash handling fee, with a minimum of £3.00
