Apps updateing on HTC Desire

Is there a setting for autoupdating all applications on a desire?
I turned on my phone this morning and found that 2 of my apps had updated even though I do not remember doing so. I have searched the settings area and there appears to be no way to access any update controls. One of the apps - googlemaps does not have a setting within the program to control updates either.

You enable autoupdates in the Market Place don't you?

Yes I eventually discovered that you can set autoupdate for each program individually by selecting them from the 'My apps' list in the marketplace.
