Ford poor servicing

I had my car serviced at a main ford dealer about a month ago.
Tonight when I checked under the bonnet I discovered they hadn't reconnect the crankshaft breather hose, and one of the bolts holding the housing on is covered in oil
Do I need to get anything checked over or should I just leave it now i've reconnected it?

Crankcase breather hose, not an issue.... It just shoves oil vapour into the intake to be burnt off, makes a bit of a mess when disconnected.
The effect of not burning the oil vapour is greater fuel efficiency and around +5% BHP when you redirect it into a catch tank (which you then empty every few weeks). It also stops the intake getting gunked up with black oily cr4p.
Must be connected to pass the MOT though as your not allowed to vent oil vapour into the atmosphere and the emissions test looks for residual oil vapour.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

For a start, they wouldn't have removed the crankshaft breather hose in the first place so you're wrong to be blaming them. There is absolutely nothing in the Ford service schedules which involves touching it.
And its a breather hose so it'll be venting air with oil vapour so you'll get oil on the bolt but it doesn't mean oil is pouring out.
It is a non-issue - reconnect it and move on.0 -
unless maybe it was disconnected to allow easier access to some other component like air filter?0

I think it would depwnd on the model mickey, you can change the oil, fuel and air filters on my TDCi Mondeo without touching much else in the engine bay.
If the OP tells us the model details perhaps we can be more help. My only real concern would be that something oike this would work loose over many months and i would have hoped they would have spotted it when they serviced the car. But if it does need to be moved to gain easy access then maybe it wasn't bolted back.up properly. Though i would have thought cleaning out oil.breathers to be something that does need done during a cars life. I have done it before aswell as cleaning MAF sensors with a cotton bud and cleaner and also EGR valves.
Until we have an idea of how the engine is organised not sure how much help can be given0 -

This isnt my car, but the engine is the same.
Circle shows disconnected hose.
Arrow shows location of small oil pool, around one bolt of the cover.
Seems unlikely to have worked itself loose, because now I can't easily get it back off without some considerable force. Are they likely to have removed the cover to do something?
I'm wondering if they did a bit of a rush job, because they also left a screwdriver resting between the wipers and the bonnet which nearly went flying when I was driving home down the carriageway... they obviously left it there and forgot...0 -

Touching it, maybe not, but there certainly is something in all Ford inspection schedules that states that they should check for general condition, routing and leaks of all pipes in the engine compartment.
The following is a directUnder Hood.
Wiring, pipes, hoses.
oil and fuel feed lines. Check for routing, damage,
chafing and leaks
And even the most basic Ford inspection covers: (from Ford themselves)Wiring, pipes, hoses, oil and fuel pipes0 -

No. I do that all the time.
Usually on the roof though, I've driven miles before I've had to brake sharply, then had them bounce down off the bonnet.0
