Three Return Deposit

Hi,
3 weeks ago, i took out a Three contract.
They asked me to pay a deposit of £100. I normally have good credit so was puzzled but paid it anyway.
Unfortunately, the was faulty and after 2 replacements and several discussions with their appalling customer services team and in-store team, the manager decided to cancel the contract.
However, he didn't return my £100 deposit and when asked he said customer services would send me a cheque.
It has now been 2 weeks (I can appreciate the bank holidays) but no cheque.
I have just rang Three and they have said that even though they have sent a final bill of £0.00 (as I had the phone for less than a week) the need to wait a further 4-6weeks to produce a final bill and then I've got to phone back up and then ask for my refund.
I guess I'm asking is this normal procedure? it seems an inordinate amount of time.

Probably so any unbilled oversea useage (I realise that may not be the case for you but they may wait just in case) is put on the bill before closure.0
