Helping my retired father out as he isnt sure if he is getting a good deal or not, please advise..
Looking at his last online bill he is paying:
talktalk broadband @ £0.00
line rental @ £12.30
talktalk plus @ £14.99
call charges @ £3.22
total: £30.51
Broadstone is the local exchange (http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/STBDSTN) and has LLU for AOL, O2/Be, Orange, Pipex, Sky / easynet, Talktalk (CPW), Tiscali, Tiscali TV.
He would like either unlimited or high usage internet (40gig would be enough), and uses the phone for short calls to landline, mobiles and 0845 numbers.
Can he get a better deal than this, what are his options? Thanks in advance

Hi,
I have just signed up to Orange as I have a mobile with them. But even without their packages are some of the cheapest. Unlimited Broadband with Anytime calls to landlines, 0845 and 0870 numbers (not being an Orange mobile customer) is £15 p.m. Add line rental (£11.50) and that's £26.50 p.m. It's an 18 month contract but the problem you will have is that TalkTalk install their own phone line which makes changing providers more expensive. Orange will charge you £60 but are offering a £50 family and friends referral credit so if you wanted to switch to Orange I could give you my details and it would effectively be £10 install costs. And you'll have a BT line installed by Orange which means it'll be so much easier to change in the future if you so wish.
Hope this helps0
