1. put a LAN cable between your laptop and your router
2. access the router homepage
3. find out your wireless password
4. pull out LAN cable
5. XP will prompt for password if you want to access router internet
6. enter password.0 -
or often on a sticker on the wireless routerEx forum ambassador

yes, your router is at that IP address, confirmed by your connection details (default gateway is that addy also).
Here are some common default username/passwords for Linksys routers (the format is Username/Password).
<leave blank>/admin
<leave blank>/password
admin/admin
admin/password......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
@Schwade You are right. This is the way.
1. put a LAN cable between your laptop and your router
How to find your router .Default ip is 192.168.1.1 , but you can try also 192.168.2.1.
When you access router`s homepage ,select Wireless ,then Wireless Security. Change your Passphrase and this time remember it well and Save Settings. On your PC search for a network and find yours.Connect to it and XP will prompt for Passphrase.
If you have problems with finding your router, tell me.0
