Hi, I was wondering if you guys could help me/ tell me what to do with my vodafone n97 mini. Basically I got it in July last year and it stopped working (it had signal issues) in September. I took it into my vodafone shop and they sent it away for repair, then it came back with signal issues and a broken microphone. So I brought it back to them and they then told me they wouldn't repair it because it was a free upgrade on a sim only plan. I had to go back to uni in edinburgh so I thought I might chance my luck and see if the vodafone there would repair it, they did. Unfortunately though it came back broken another 4 times (After them claiming it had been completely replaced after the second time). Is there anyway I can get them to just give me a brand new handset off the shelf because i'm really at my wits end with these stupid "Repairs" .
Thanks Andrew
Thanks Andrew

Your handset is a year old, if they replace it they will most likely give you a year old refurbished handset not a new one.
However you can try returing it to Nokia for repair rather than Vodafone, or you may want to try the vodafone directors office (search on here for the email address) who may be able to authorise a replacement, but legally as long as they are attempting repairs then they are within the law.
The retailer has to make repairs or replacment of a faulty device in the warranty period, but it's down to the retailer to choose between offering a repair/replacment or refund.
Sorry it's not better news.0 -
Thanks for the quick reply gichester. I thought thats what the answer might be-but it was worth asking. I just fee like vodafone could do more since they way they treated me.
Thanks anyway0 -
Hi AJDBaillie,
I am sorry to hear that you have had these problems with getting the phone repaired. I know how frustrating it can be to not have a working phone.
So that I can look into this for you personally, can you send me an email to webrelations@vodafone.com with WRT135 (FAO Heidi) in the subject and a link to this thread.
Many thanks,
Heidi
