claim?

I am about to claim for my mobile phone and would like to ask for advice as to how the claim should be worded. The back is missing and the phone did work for a while but has now stopped working. I hear constantly about the insurers wriggling out of their obligations to replace handsets. I have paid my insurance for around 3 years and never claimed. The phone is a recent acquisition and I am tied to my contract for at least another 20 months. Any advice on my claim please?? Has to be sent today.

Why are you claiming, loss of back has to be down to you losing the back, it must have come with it. And anything to do with it not working should be a warranty claim not insurance unless you damaged it accidentally.0
