My 12 year old son has managed to acrue a £1500 mobile phone bill through 87111 and 69744 numbers in 6 weeks. Is there any advice about how to try to get some help on this matter. he has text them at a cost of 25p but they text back at 1.50. He has lied about his age to access the messages but tells me that he responded to an unsolicited message to his phone.
There is no way i can afford this bill so any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Throw yourself at the mercy of the provider, they should do a deal with you. Giving a 12 year old a contract phone is however always going to end in tears.

    emmaohara,
You should first start by contacting PhonepayPlus its very possible that this service/content provider were not acting in compliance with the Industry code of practice

periodic cost warnings for example and whether they did sufficient due diligence to verify your sons name.

Why don't parents check their kids' contract mobile phone bill online every day? I do. I just hope that the data displayed is accurate, albeit a day or 2 behind in some cases. Works for me so far, fingers x'd. 1st sign of misuse and the phone gets confiscated for a week.
