Churchill - Do they employ monkeys? [Car Insurance]

Had numerous 'administrative' issues with this incompetent company.
They sent me 5 letters in the space of 2 weeks stating someone had claimed on my policy and requesting that I speak to them over the phone, even though I'd spoken to them as soon as it had been reported as they rang me! After ringing and asking why I was receiving letters they said it was an 'administrative error' and sorry it won't happen again.
A few days later I received another letter from them, recorded & signed for, stating that if I did not contact them about this 'claim' (some of you may have seen my thread about the 'claim' itself) then I would be in breach of the terms and conditions which I signed up to and this could invalidate my cover and they may have to proceed against my interest. Again I had to ring them and point out their mistake.
Policy has ended - great! Oh wait, trying to get proof of NCB seems to be harder than finding rocking horse... you know the saying. I rang them up last week requesting they send me proof of NCB so I could send on to new insurer. Still hadn't turned up by today. Getting emails from new insurers asking where it is and if it doesn't turn up soon they will increase my premium.
Ring Chuchill, ask where it is. Surprise surprise it wasn't sent last week because some idiot that claims to know how to do his job posted a file note instead of actually arranging for it to be sent!
It's OK though, they're sending me another and it will be with me within 7 days - not good enough when I need it NOW otherwise I'll have more money taken from me.
Sorry for the rant but these stupid mistakes really get on my nerves.

perhaps just deal with a high street broker in person. I have no stress doing that. You may pay a little bit more but its worth it. You may get tea and biscuits too. I look forward to my next visit to them, sadly not until next year.
churchill and direct line are owned by RBS and you know how great at banking they were don't you ?0 -

Oh dear! I've already re-insured with a new company now who have been helpful and are going to ring Churchill and sort my NCB out from there, but the broker idea is worth looking at all these companies are as bad as each other!"A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on" - Winston Churchill0 -

well thats nice to hear they are actually going to lift a phone in exchange for the hundreds of quid you have given them. Plenty of tales on here about most companies insisting the proof must be provided by you in the post and no photocopies either.0 -

Well my new company Admiral say you can send it them by email which would save so much time and money, however Churchill 'don't do stuff by email' so that wasn't a possibility here. I'd love to spend a day working for an insurance company just to see how hard it is to comply with what a customer requests, there must be something we don't know, like their computers are written in an alien language or something?"A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on" - Winston Churchill0 -

It's in India which is where a lot of call centres are because Indian call centre monkeys are cheaper than British ones0

Churchill's call centres are all UK based according to their website
"We are a UK based company with all our call centres in the UK and sell insurance policies by phone and on the Internet".0
