Can I ask a silly question, if I went into my local mothercare, would they price match the online price?
    Thanks in advance :)
  • Yes, just give them the website address over the phone and they will do it there and then. I pricematch pretty much everything with them, and, for those of you who have vouchers coming, my vouchers normally arrive recorded delivery the next day or at latest the day after that (they say 7 working days on the phone). They are the "old fashioned" paper vouchers and can only be spent in store (not online or phone). Perfect as gifts for friends though! :)
  • Hello

just rang and got price match with boots no problem and then asked about rocket (brought one while back price matched at £6 in store but wanted another as baby is starting to get 1st birthday party invites!!) and she said yep £4.20 will price match no issues.

She didnt voluntarily offer the £10 giftcard but when asked at end of call she did say ok we can only send one out as it needs to be a price difference of £20 and she is sending that seperatly to our home address.

Think the sales assistant is getting confused, it doesnt have to be a DIFFERENCE of £20. The item they price match just has to be OVER £20. I have price matched a fireman sam item last year, that was £21.99 in Mothercare and £12.99 on amazon. They price matched to £12.99 and sent me a £10 voucher.

I was told that the item they were price matching TO had to be over £20 so in this case, the table would had to have been over £20 on Amazon. If that isn't the case and others can confirm what I need to politely tell them then I'll be back on the phone to get my voucher.

I'm wonderfing: the mothercare one is pink and the boots one is green. Will they think that's 2 different products and not match the prices?

Edit: Never mind. Just gave it a try and order the green one. The nice CS lady automatically offered a 10pound voucher. And then I asked for the pink and she said alright. So got it delivered to local store for less than 5, woo hoo.. Thanks so much everyone for the info, especially the OP!

Tip: I think either their product or the competitor product is over 20pounds then you can get the voucher.

The terms and conditions states the competitor's website (in this case Boots) needs to show the item as £20 or more to qualify for the £10 gift card. Of course, most of the Mothercare Customer Service assistants are not quite clued up about this price promise policy and believe it is the difference between their price and that of the competitor. So when they tell you won't get the voucher, they are clearly in the know but it is worth phoning again and checking with another assistant who is likely to think it's the price difference.

    Hope that helps.

Just phoned and spoke to a lovely lady on the price check CS desk and she apologised profusely and my voucher should be with me next week :j

I know this sounds silly but I'm really chuffed they're sending the voucher as I've just had my second baby and this will help out towards a new mattress for his cot.

Sorry, but who do I ring? My local Mothercare store or another number? Also do I order and pay on the phone or in the store? :o
