ATM Charge in USA for Nationwide Debit Card?

I seem to remember someone saying something about a charge for using ATM's in the USA. Not from Nationwide, as we all know that is free, but from the US Bank. Can anyone confirm or deny this, and if it is true, which cash machine are free?

Most of the ATM's in the States put their own charge on, and cc's will add further charges especially for cash! Best bet to pay everything [even a cup of coffee] with the Nationwide credit card. Although i do believe the Post Office's CC does not charge either, but dont know that for sure.
Hope it helps.Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -

Thanks. Yes, I have been paying everything with the debit card so far, but think I will need to withdraw cash at some point.
Do you know the level of the charge and if they tell you prior to the withdrawal?0 -
The citibank I used in Vegas charged us $2 for a withdrawel regardless of how much we took out (so we took out enough to last us a week of cash transactions like tips etc).
I can't remember whether there was a sign up on the wall with the charge listed or whether the machine told us about the charge but we definately knew before the withdrawel how much we'd be charged.
Dunno if $2 is a typical charge or not though - you may have to check different ATMs to get the best deal.0 -

We used ours in the Circus Circus casino,Las Vegas.
Sign on the machine said US citizens would be charged $9!
Luckily no charge for us.0 -
Infact looking back this year I haven't been charged any ATM fees at all... Suspect it is just US accounts that are charged!0

I've always stuck to the ATMs in the likes of Walmart, K mart and Target and have never been charged any fees.0

It is just "trial and error". Insert your nationwide debit card then the machine will prompt you if you will be charged or not, so if it says you will be charged by using this machine then cancel it then look for another one. Simple as that.
That's how I avoid being charged as I can't remember on top of my head the name of the banks which doesn't charge for withdrawals.0
