I have successfully had a couple of hours rest this morning - as well as put on wm 2ce, dw 1ce and cooked an omlette. I watered the veg borders earlier - they're starting to sprout (only sowed the seeds a couple of weeks back) looks like there will be plenty of lettuce :D not sure what order I planted the rest in so will have to wait and see what pops up

Watching This Morning - am shocked by the interview they're about to play about the girl who started being abused by a 51 yr old when she was 7 and now an adult has written a book and says she's still in love with him :(:(

I'm going to get a couple of chickens soon ... very excited!! I've checked with the solicitor to make sure there's nothing in the deeds of the house to stop me ... not sure the neighbours will be best pleased because they like to complain!!

Right gonna log off because otherwise I'll be on here all day :o:p:cool:

    Hello all;

I'm having to rest on the sofa for now, so thought I'd do a “proper” post for once!:o

Beemuzed I'm sure your woofers will have a wonderful holiday – sounds a bit like the service the company I'm signed up as a host with provides.;)

Nic1lou2 I found this and thought of you

It comes with lots of coping vibes for you.:o

Hilstep I'd have thought that if your DD's reception was booked first, the venue should have honoured it; it's not your fault that their paperwork wasn't up to scratch – surely the 2nd booking should've been the one to be told the date wasn't available after all. Sorry to hear that DD is being a Bridezilla, though.

Rosie step away from the chocolate eggs!:D

Uolypool I've kept quiet thus far, as I didn't have anything constructive to offer (I don't have kids at all) but as someone who was also bullied at school, I'd like to wish your DD all the very best at her new school, and hope it all goes brilliantly for her.:o

Dins tonight is going to be Sausage Inna Bun, as we have a busy evening; Mr LW will trundle me down to the polling station in my chariot (wheelchair), then once that's done, we're supposed to be taking his pal "A" to the pub; I owe "A" a flagon of cider for helping Mr LW to fit the new loft ladder.:A We've a jar of HM 3-fruit marmalade to give him too.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Afternoon All

Well the weekly shop came to a grand total of £28 and that included washing powder, and toilet rolls so next week should be even cheaper :j
Luckily the car is full of diesel and DH has started using his bike again (until it rains that is)

We popped into the polling station on the way home to make our statement on what we think of AV and council
DD started her job today :j I hope it goes well; She will vote after work.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Brhhh! Its so cold here. I've had to put heating on for an hour. Thought i'd be warmed up, been in the garden sorting out my veggie bins. Evereything is beeing grown in tubs this year. i just can't cope with the digging etc any-more. My arthritis and chest wont let me. Ooo i hate getting older. Also not seeding up either. There just is no point with just DD and myself to feed. I have planted up my potatoes, runner beans and sweet corn. But will be buying 2 or 3 tom plants and lettuce. Also need to get carrot seeds. This year i have tried so hard to make my garden, flowers and veg patch easier to handle so i can enjoy it rather than working hard all the time.
I also have to start finding something to occupy my mind a bit more. Also something interesting to look forward to. i'm on my own now. Well i still have my nearly 16yr old Dd with me. But she is often "doing her own thing". I find i'm getting so bored. I live in a very small town and about 30mns to nearest bigger town and no car. (though i do have my bus pass, hooray) Any-one with any ideas? Ideas will be much appreciated.
On a good note. A friend took me to Makro yesterday and i picked up a couple of fantastic bargains. 2 small chickens for £2.50. 6 lemonade for 99pSome butter for 75p. I was really chuffed. Have a good day everyone.
Now to switch that heating back off or all my savings will be going on the gas bill.

Can't remember what dinner was meant to be yday, but I know pasta was on the meal plan, so we had tagliatelle in a garlic and cream cheese sauce (soft cheese hm from our yoghurt!), with ys ciabatta and lots of salad, followed by meringues, cream and strawbs which were ys and bogof! Was lovely, simple and tasty!

    xx

How did you make that? <insert thick icon> :rotfl:

Good afternoon all, well I did the school run then went to pay some cash into my building society then back to my village where I had to go to the new lymphodema clinic which has not long opened .I was there best part of two hours but came away feeling really positive and the clinic nurse was lovely She has ordered me a new sleeve/glove for my right arm in a lighter weight material which will help when the warmer weather starts.Got home eventually at just
after two and have been busy sorting out bills and emails ever since .Just realised I haven't had lunch yet ,may have an early dinner instead.Voted on the way home and stayed away from the shops which was good .I will have to shop tomorrow but I have a list of essentials that I need and will buy only them.
Only 13 weeks till my holidays so I am saving like mad and eating from the freezer.I have the makings of a ham salad with cheese, celery, cucumber, lettuce tomato's and beetroot in the frige so that will be my dinner .I may just have a cuppa and a slice of cake to tide me over till around 5.The sun is out but its not as hot as it was forecast but at least its dry. DGD Holly came and weeded my front garden for me yesterday afternoon and I managed to get all the porch scrubbed and ready for painting.Too late to start today and tomorrow I have a history class in the afternoon so it looks like a Saturday job for me.
Hope everyone is having a good day, the week-end is upon us again ,quick week this week because of the bank holiday.DGS Henry is off on his school trip next week to the Isle of Wight. It's our favourite place for our holidays so he is very happy to be going. The boys don't know that we are going back in August for two weeks we keep it quiet until the week before we go as a suprise.Dear Son-in-law still hasn't heard when his job will go for sure, even though he has had a 'notice of redundancy' but they will try to find him another job in the KCC hopefully
Right I'm off for a cuppa.
have a good day everyone (whats left of it ):):)

Uolypool That is wonderful that your dd will be having a fresh start. I really hope it all goes well for her. Hope you have a nice few days relaxing together before she starts.

Been up at allotment with dh this afternoon. It is almost impossible to dig as the ground is rock hard. The annoying thing is that he got done in an hour, about the same amount that I had taken hours and hours to do. Grrr, but grateful for the help.

Just had stir fry with spicy prawns for tea. Tasty.

    Have a nice evening all.
