Barclays will remove the internet banking facility from your account when you go BR, regardless of when you opened the account. You can have a basic Barclays account, with a visa debit card, but no online banking, while you are BR. Since I don't have internet banking on my Barclays account, I am now very good at keeping my accounts of what I spend/each time I withdraw from the bank. Its not done me any harm, and hope to keep doing the same following my BR discharge.

eta - I've always had, and still do have, access to a mini-statement from any branch of Barclays through their atms, at any time, with my basic account.

I signed up for a Barclays basic account the day after my BR back in Jan 2010 and they signed me up for online banking at the same time and they never withdrew access at all through my bankruptcy to my discharge 6 month later.

Must be luck of the draw I guess.

In a previous life I had accounts with Barclays.....with internet banking...this also gave me access to all sorts of 'instant credit' products......

I have no idea what the format of Barclays internet banking is now, especially if only a 'basic' account is used....but if it's anything like the format I used to have, this would explain why they cancel internet access on BR?

Co-op's internet access is purely administrative, with no direct access to products...
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......

I wouldn't hold your breathe that you will retain internet banking even if it does go through. But make the most of it while it lasts.
