whats wrong with a nice front garden?

I can never believe how horrid some neighbours can be - my friend has a neighbour who keeps reporting her to the RSPCA - they've been round, said all is fine - but obviously its a huge worry for her. Worse bit is she's currently getting treatment for cancer, neighbours know this and yet still report her for no reason other than spite.
I say this to encourage you to not give in and let them win - they will get theirs - karma can be a !!!!!.
Love the garden BTW - well done
House bought - now to clear the mortgage :T

Good luck, I CCTV is fairly easy to set up and you can pick a basic system up in Maplins. If you can move, I would this kind of thing sadly rarely goes away. (sorry but there is not point giving you false hope.)My Mind wanders, if found please return.0

Hi,
I just thought I would offer my support and encouragement. I think your garden is lovely.
As well as the cctv recommendation, personally, I would keep a diary including photo record of all vandalism occurences and report every occasion to the police (keeping a note of who you report the issue to, the crime number, etc. It is criminal damage regardless of the fobbing off you have been dealt. I think the note you have received is a threat and should be treated seriously. There should be an antisocial behaviour officer at the Council that you can report this to. I would then go to your MP if your appeals to the Council officers don't work.
It is wrong that these bullies should ruin other people's living environment.
Good luck with things.
Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

I spoke to the estates manager she will be popping out to see me tommorrow along with a community office to have a chat.. she seemed very annoyed that people are doing this.. and has suggested to get a note book and and write down everything that happens.. she advised me not to get a cctv just yet.. but she will have a chat with the community officer about it tommorrow when they come..0

CCTV should not be too expensive. Clearly you have a 'puter and I'm guessing WiFi?
One of these
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/300kp-wifi-network-internet-surveillance-wireless-ip-cctv-camera-with-rj45-motion-detection-55570
is about £40 delivered and has a motion sensor on it. You can record to your PC.
£70 odd pounds gets you one with night vision. The smaller the monkey the more it looks like it would kill you at the first given opportunity.

my heart goes out to you brogusblue. i love flowers and shrubs in gardens yet my neighbours on both sides disagree. the guy above us doesnt like my self seeded buddlia because it stops him nosying down the street  and the woman on the other side just seems to hate anything living, she has a shingle garden and has even pulled out our lovely plants claiming them to be weeds and shes helping us keep our garden tidy  i lost all my daffodil bulbs that way

i just carry on regardless in the knowledge that my garden annoys the hell out of them both

Raphanius .. i really don't know whats wrong with people today.. I am only 37 and was brought up to respect people.. but you can't even speak to certain people with out some sort of reprisal..
I just had a local pcso come around to have a look .. he said i looks like a chelsea flower garden
.. Or someone has been watching too much ground force .. Cheek.. :rotfl:He also did say that its good that its in large pots making hard to steal ..
He said he will add the street on to his rounds and pop around every so often and check.. he gave me his card and said any probs just ring ..
I asked about cctv he said wait untill the council and community offer has been around ..
Newsgroup .. Thanks for the link i have booked marked it for later ..0 -
I just wanted to put in another vote for speaking to your local Antisocial Behaviour team. You usually have to keep the pressure on them to get them to do anything, but by documenting every incident and sending them your proof each time it happens, you should eventually make them sit up and take notice. I've had success with my local ASBO team in regard to a distressing neighbour by dealing with the situation in this manner.
I really hope that the vandal is caught and punished - I really can't understand the actions of some people. You'd think others would get pleasure from looking out their windows at something so beautiful as your front garden without them even having to lift a finger to make that view possible. It beggars belief that they would go out of their way to damage it...

I wonder what it is about your garden that the neighbours don't like. Perhaps the pergola as it's quite large - does it block light into the neighbours windows? Just a thought. No excuse for this kind of behaviour though and I would go down the CCTV route. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0
