You know it's nearly Christmas when....... you can buy the Christmas Radio/TV Times

Options
For me a real indication that Christmas is nearly here is when I can buy the Christmas TV listings magazines.

I spend a good hour going through them circling programmes I want to watch or video. I do this knowing full well that I will duly forget to watch/video circled programmes but it still give me great pleasure.
I don't really watch much tv (tend to watch mainly football with my husband and sons.) Not into soaps but will try to watch a movie or two over Christmas.
Watched Elf and thought that was really funny though not impressed with Polar Express.

Unfortunately it is a signal that Christmas is over when I get to the last day of listings in Radio/TV Times.

We go through the listing magazine with a fine tooth comb, marking what we want to watch; record and keep; record, watch and then delete. Then have the usual row because we want to record several things that are on at the same time and usually forget anyway or worse, fall asleep. Don't you just love Christmas :D

The *best* ones are the Xmas TV guides that come out with the weekend papers and are full of TBA. I don't know why they bother even printing a TV guide when they don't even have half the content!

We joke about it saying ''...Oooh, I hope TBA is on again thsi year!" :rotfl:

I think Xmas has really started when you buy them! I always buy the Radio Times now, but I'm old enough to remember when you had to have both! LOL!

If your recording on a sky box you can record two things at once. I discovered this by accidant the other day ;)

  • Hi All,

They are meant to be getting delivered to shops around about the 12th December this year - We had a flyer in work (I work at a newsagents!), giving us advice on deliveries for this month.

All of the previous weeks TV guides from this week are coming in early too, as the ones that should be in today came in on Saturday, so expect next Tuesdays ones this Thursday or something! That said, most shops wouldn't but them on sale too early for confusion!

Christmas ones would probably be on the shelves not long after the 12th though!

    Cheers

  • ~Ooh yes, me too - I list everthing in a notebook under days. Come the end of Chistmas we usually realise we've missed all of it, but I think that isn't the point - it's the doing it that's so enjoyable.

Around the 12th, eh? can't wait!
