QUOTE 2thanks for that, be interesting to know which sites they have bought"
word is they are mainly dorset and northern ones, larger stores with mezzanine floors seem to be favourite. think haverhill and witney was on the list but not the essex ones

OMG I can't believe they have gone into administration. I always thought they were one of the biggest DIY stores around. Hopefully someone will come in and save it as it would be a real shame if it vanished altogether.0

As Ernst and Young have appointed a liquidator in the last couple of days, I would expect a big closing down sale to be starting soon... keep your eyes open0

The liquidator has started to advertise the closing down sale. There are no details of the offers as yet...

            hi there,
has anyone been today? is it worth going?
looking for internal doors and other stuff,
might have a trip out tomorrow but its out of my way,
TIA0 -
Supposedly they're only on 10% off for fast selling stuff (paint, gardening etc) and 20% off for slow sellers (timber etc) so I don't think it's quite worth a visit yet but... If you go next week when the discounts are higher and they don't have any of the items left you want, that's the gamble!!0

Just bought a TV mast from there last night before they closed. I came back this morning and asked to return it since it wasn't big enough, the manager was a right !!!! wipe about it and wouldn't accept the refund (as we all know). However I wasn't aware of the no-refund policy last night when I purchased it as there wasn't a sign next to the till I was at and the cashier never told me. They do say they'll refund your item if it's faulty -- would breaking the welding class as faulty if I do it without damaging the actual mast? There must be a way to get it refunded!
Any ideas?Live Long and Prosper!0 -
