this is a good one -

saturday I ordered a patio set from my local store as after they checked stock at all other closeish stores none had stock.
I went into a different branch today to ask if they had any more info now they say no orders will be supplied and no refunds will be given - but they had the patio set in stock.
this is the good bit, they wont give it to me to complete my order BUT i can buy it as a new purchase!!
So they have my money and stock but I cant have it, I said what if I walk out with it and apparently that would be theft and security would grab me!

aint the law a funny thing eh??

good news for some staff & stores... http://www.kingfisher.co.uk/index.asp?pageid=55&newsid=904

Kingfisher plc announces that following the appointment of administrators at Focus DIY Limited and Do It All Limited it has agreed to buy up to 31 leasehold properties for £23 million in cash. B&Q, Kingfisher’s largest UK subsidiary, plans to start the process of refitting the vacant properties and opening them as new B&Q stores later in the year.

Commenting on the announcement Ian Cheshire, Kingfisher’s Group Chief Executive, said:

“This is a good opportunity for us to accelerate our previously announced plans to expand B&Q into carefully targeted UK locations where we currently have no store representation. This will bring better choice and lower prices to customers and provide secure jobs and career prospects in these local communities.”

No shop has to give a refund on items that are perfectly alright, only if they do not work etc. This means you can't just expect someone to refund on something because you don't like it or bought the wrong size etc.

but if they advertise prominently in store a "no quibble 28 day refund" promise, as Focus do, then yes they must.

I'm surprised they've gone into administration after the absurd amount we spent with them over the Easter period...

I'm surprised they have gone into administration too. They took payment for a front door (£349.00) but now can't/won't deliver and can't/won't give a refund either. How many more people have they taken payment from and not honoured the transaction?

It was mastercard actually and I already have done earlier today. I'm just pleased I didn't pay cash.
