Post Office Exchange rate

Checked online today and the Post Office exchange rate was 1.08xxx euro to the pound, so told the wife and she went to the village post office and has just rung me to say that she was only given 1.03xxx to the pound, do you only get the rate on the web if you order it through the web?

    Short answer, Yes.
From the T&Cs on their website "Rates of exchange quoted on this website, and currency conversions based on those rates of exchange, are indicative rates and conversions at the time of calculation. Rates quoted are for online orders only for home delivery or branch collection. They are subject to change at any time. Rates of exchange in branch may differ to online rates.

Thats fine my own fault for not reading the small print, just wanted to make sure it wasn't a mistake, normally I order and collect from Travelex but we are flying from Manchester and they don't have a depot there!

The Post Office have at least three rates - online for delivery or pickup in branch, over the counter in a BdeC branch and pre-order in person at smaller branches

I recently checked the exchange rate in a city centre post office. Withdrew cash from an ATM on my way to the bus, caught the bus home and went to my local post office to buy the euros. The rate was 5 cents per £ lower.

My DF went back into the city centre to buy them for me.
