Hi
Does anyone know the seat width and seatbelt length on Ryanair?
I've heard some horror stories and that they are worse than most airlines for squeezing people in....i'm flying with my boyfriend for the first time this week and really don't want the embarassment of the seatbelt not closing!!!
I'm a womens dress size 20/22 if anyone similar has flown with them recently and same size?
Aer lingus and Air france have been fine in recent years, and even had seat belt to spare, but I've heard Ryanair are different and now i'm panicking massively!!
If anyone knows the maximum waist size you can be or actual seatbelt length, I would appreciate it.
Thank you an here's to a happy...and comfortable holiday!!

The seat width on Ryanair is the same as most other economy cabins. Stop listening to scaremongerers!Gone ... or have I?0

avoid the emergency seats though as due to the seats having partitions rather than arms they are narrower than all the other seatsLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0

Hi
I always fret when I fly and need no to stay as calm as possible! Being a larger lady myself I worry about seatbelts and feel very embarressed asking for an extension so I managed to find a seat belt extender on ebay for £9.00 and its great!!!
Hope you have a good flight!

Agree - we once paid for exit row seats on Virgin back from Vegas and regretted it...I can confine myself to a standard airline seat, but the exit row seats were not comfortable for me, being wider of hip than average.I could fit into them, yes, but they weren't comfortable - especially not for that long of a flight.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Ryanair 737s have 6 seats across, just like everyone elses 737s so no need to worry there. The seat pitch (distance between your seat and the one in front) is also the same as other low cost and charter airlines. Don't believe the hype!
As other users have said, if the standard seat belt will not fasten, they carry seat belt extenders like all other airlines, you just have to ask a member of cabin crew who will get you one with minimal fuss.rosettemaker wrote:I always fret when I fly and need no to stay as calm as possible! Quite a novel idea taking your own. Although be careful as (like everything else in the Aviation industry) there are very strict regulations about seats and seatbelts. Each design has to be tested and approved before being allowed to be used with passengers. In theory an airline could insist you use their particular ones. Its an unlikely scenario as it would have to involve a member of cabin crew spotting you using your own and then being bothered to create the fuss, but in a hypothetical world it could happen, and the airline would be within their rights to make you use theirs!0 -

I'd never buy something like this off ebay or anywhere else, to be honest. These items have to be certified, and someone could be making these at home and you won't be safe. May I recommend that people use the extention seatbelts the airline has? They are properly certified and checked for safety. Cabin crew are usually very discreet with this issue.
It's also worth noting that if you're travelling on a UK registered airline, you won't be able to sit at self-help emergency exits if you need an extention seatbelt. It's due to CAA regulations.Call me what you like, I was a bit "tiddly" when I chose my username
