when all else fails it ends up here.. http://www.postrs.org.uk/ but you gotta go through the whole official process first...

Thanbks for coming back lass, others are correct your contract is with the post office. They failed to give you the correct advice which could have caused your loss.

I have seen it before - don't think PO and Parcel Force cooperate too well - and when something goes wrong they tend to blame each other

yep, thats why I am covering every route - no joy from Parcel Force so now opened up a complaint with the post office and going to with royal mail as they are the same group. Its not even about the money any more (even though it was £43 to send this letter to Spain) but I refuse to be blamed for this for missing information I was not even made aware that I had to provide

well have hit a brick wall. I went to the ParcelForce appeals and have not had any response from them. Although I went to the Post Office and the counter staff confirmed I should have been asked to complete a despatch form (which I wasn't), once I took the complaint formally to the post office, I got a letter back apologising but assuring me that their staff were well trained! Its so frustrating - cost me £43 to send a letter and didnt even make it on time and both ParcelForce and the Post Office are saying I am ultimately responsible for it. I just don't agree with that, I am not expected to know every piece of paperwork that needs to completed for each mail service. There were errors by Fedex, ParcelForce and Post Office with this delivery and nobody is taking responsibility for it. I even went to the Postal Review board but they said they do not handle this as they are for Royal Mail only and I should be going through the post office and parcelforce escalation process

I would imagine Parcelforce may take a while to come back to you, they deal with an awful lot of freight, so issues do happen.

No use to you now but in future use DHL. They deliver all round the world using their own guys so no problems with one group blaming the other. In this day and age it amazes me we still have to send legal documents through the post. Hope it all eventually gets sorted. At least it got there in the end.

trouble is too many people think their is only the post office/parcelforce.

there is many a time i have been in the PO queue when someone in front has handed a large parcel to be delivered and told some stupid high price and you feel like tapping them on the shoulder and telling them to call DHL etc. and have it delivered for 1/4 of the PO costs.

    This is funny.

DHL domestic is now not owned by DHL, but owned by HDNL, which is now renaming itself to Yodel.

DHL shut down US operations so the whole of the US is delivered by partners in that country (small one innit!)...

Of all the companies, FedEx Express and UPS are the only remaining ones where the majority of the world is served by thier employees, not contractors
