Moving house with tiscali broadband

Hi

I am moving address and want to kepp my current tiscali package.

What i need to know is will there be a period where my old and new phone numbers have access to broadband

I.e i move on 19/12, will tiscali supply my old number until then and switch to my new number from then?

I think as far as I know you will have to have the new phone number/line enabled for broadband at your new address on the new phone number, when you actually move in.

This could take up to 2 weeks.
Tiscali will be able to process everything for you as they will already have your mac code to transfer from the old phone number.

The last part of above is incorrect.

You will need to get your line activated/installed (whatever the option may be) with BT, when the line has gone live, then your ISP should be applying to get the ADSL order on the line.

Basically your ISP will need to install ADSL at your new address, no migration codes are required.

Now this is permitting that there is no existing adsl service from the previous tennant. If there is still a service then you'll have to wait till thats fully ceased off the line before Tiscali can place an order. But you'll know this when Tiscali try to place the order & they'll tell you if theres an issues with the line.

Hopefully it should run smoothly but my personal experience with Tiscali in the past is they couldnt tell their !!!! from their elbow! But best of luck

I was assuming there would already be an active line from the previous owners and that it would be only a question oif ringing BT on the moving day giving the new occupiers name.

Then all the rest follows but yes there would need to be a new application made and not a transfer of the mac code at the new address
it was late and i was half asleep when i posted!

Also Tiscali charges 50-65GBP for moving the broadband to different phone line/number with in first 12 months of contract.
