Vodafone - Can I leave and return to get cashback (to become a "new" customer)?

Hi all

My current contract with vodafone soon ends. I'm happy to keep my handset and am therefore looking to go for a SIM only deal.

There's currently a deal on TopCashBack for the £10/ 12 mths contract, offering Cashback of £60.60. This looks fantastic and owuld mean I only pay £5 a month. But I noticed it read:

"To be eligible for Cashback on Vodafone Contracts you must be a new customer to Vodafone."

I wondered if anyone could expand on this (or do I need to ask Vodafone directly?). If I leave Vodafone and then take up this contract with the cashback, would I be classed as a new customer? Or does it only include people who have never been with vodafone before?

Many thanks for any help

Cheers

Max

Are you currently of Pay As You Go, or are you on a contract? If you're on PAYG this would certainly be fine, but if you're on contract you might want to check whether you would be eligible for this with Vodafone directly.

WOW - that's the quickest response ever. I'd only just pressed enter!!!!

Many thanks for the help - I'll hold fire to see if anyone else has been in a similar situation or can offer advice, then call Vodafone later to see what they say. I'll also report back for the benefit of others in the future.....

    Cheers

The usual way of doing this is to port your number out to another networks payg. Start your new contract, and then port back. That fulfils the new customer criteria.

I recently did something similair to this to take advantage of £120 Quico on a Vodafone 12 month £15 ppm sim only contract. The offer I was interested in was about to expire, so I ordered the sim from Vodafone, then requested the PAC for my existing number from Vodafone, ported the existing number to GiffGaff, then ported it back to the new Vodafone sim. Everything worked flawlessly, and I had the cashback within 2 months, even though my Vodafone account shows the new number as an extra line on my existing account, rather than as a new customer.
