Playstation network has been down and I've actually spent some quality time with my husband
He's still playing it but nowhere near as much (can't play c.o.d. online so now just playing gran turismo) and I think this may well have shown him just how much time he was spending on that blooming thing!
Part one of wean-hubby-off-ps3-before-the-baby-comes successful, and I didn't even have to do anything!!! Thanks hackers

Alas he knows all about technology and I don't so you can guarantee he'd fix it in less time than it took for me to break it.
It's nice that he is realising how dependent he had become on it - he knows that it will be rehomed if he takes the mickey with it when the baby comes, and I really do think that things may change from here on in....watch this space!0 -
Want to help me bring down the Xbox live network? That way I'd get a text response quicker than the two hours it takes OH to beat someone on Call of Duty. Or even better construct a virus that specifically targets his machine....Money money money.

I could come and cat burgle you?
Nah, no good, the insurance would replace it...
Can you force the ring of fire to come up, I wonder? Sabotage would appear to be a harmless computer fault...
Nah, would only buy you some extra time until it got fixed or he bought a new one.
We could rig up something that would give him an electric shock when you need his attention, and every minute thereafter until he gave his undivided attention to you?
I think that may well be the answer :T0 -

I'm sure at some time in the future your OH will suffer the red ring of death  "We've" suffered this 3 times and its amazing how important it is a fix or replacement is sought! - the washing machine is on its last legs, the stairs have no carpet on them yet he has the latest Xbox and 50 meg connection
I'm not really in a position to say much as its his house and I have my own, so when he really gets on my nerves I just go home

We've also had the ring of death 3 times. DH bought a "spare" xbox after the first time just in case it happened again !!!0 -
Lol he could have worse hobbies like drinking or gambling apart from odd game etc least the finances are safe i see no harm in a games system i am missing my ps3 as well and c.o.d i understand his pain but yeh they key word is balance between the system and family for me its a wind down to relax like anything moderation is fine as long as it doesn't get to a addiction family life is more important"red sky at night angel delight, red sky in the morning...ANGEL DELIGHT!!0

Just be careful to never let them get dragged into on-line role playing games like Final Fantasy XI or World Of Warcraft. That's when things can fast turn into an addiction and compulsion. I can time the beginning of the downfall of my marriage to the date that Final Fantasy XI was released in the US and he had it imported.
I'm all the happier for it now as I have a new life with a new man and he likes xbox sure but is very much an outdoor person too and we do everything together. Ex on the other hand has a belly, boobs and no life hahaha"Life is what you make of it, whoever got anywhere without some passion and ambition?0 -
I thought the xbox thingies were for spotty adolescents only.
Do grown ups play with them too? :huh:0 -
Nooooo, I frequently become a weekend widow wandering the woods with the dogs while hubby and son engage is some mindless battle on exbox or playstation.0
