Santander complaints (gifts of apologies)

Options
Hey tell you what, if you make a complaint to Santander they might give you a token gift.

Yesterday they called me back and offered wine or a Molten Brown set. This was all within a few hours of writing the complaint on their website form.

Wasn't impressed that when I called their Customer Services line they kept me waiting for nearly 30 minutes, and when I called their complaints line a guy insisted on security checks for a extremely general enquiry unrelated to any accounts I had and wouldn't answer my question.

Wouldn't it be so much better if they got things right without customers having to go through this performance?

I don't want gifts... I just want a fair service. Something alien to Santander.

A few months ago I was treated totally unprofessionally by one of Santanders advisers...she even ended up shouting at me as I walked out of her office.

Put in a complaint via the Santander website and within 40 minutes I had a very apologetic call from the complaints dept, he wanted to know exactly what had happened and agreed that I was treated less than professional.

He offered me a choice of gifts and insisted I took one (or he would choose one anyway) after I had said I don't need a gift just make sure in future the person involved treats people differently.

Anyhow a hamper arrived two days later with another apology.
