my record with these people is 38 minutes until he pressed me to open the remote access site and give him my code. at this point i mentioned i was using a mac and we have no windows computers in the house. he wasn't best pleased.
the way i see it is that if i can keep them on the phone, it's time they're not ripping off some old person who doesn't know any betterhelpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -
I am wondering now..... these past few days I have been getting a pop up on my computer saying 'you have a virus etc .... ' and directing me to click on 'run cleanup' or something similar. I remember doing so a couple of years ago and ending up with a heap of viruses on my laptop which could only be 'removed' if I paid some vast amount to some site. I had my computer fixed elsewhere and it had been infected. Therefore I wonder if the pop ups are a first step to one of these dodgy organisations I am reading about on this post or maybe I do have viruses ...... is this possible?0

the pop up is the virus. Don't click on it and run your own anti virus and malware software to remove.

We get tons of these calls and treat it as a family joke and wait to see what DH tells them. He is a computer service engineer and can ask them the most technical questions imaginable. The last time they put the phone down on him lol.0

Thanks so much for your advice, I had a feeling it wasn't from Microsoft. Will have my nephew look at my laptop anyway. I am a bit 'technically challenged' when it comes to this type of thing.0 -
