You are now on a periodic monthly tenancy. Definitely only one month's notice required by you.

The important bit:

"Notice by Tenant

Where the tenancy has become a Statutory Periodic Tenancy (where the fixed-term has ended and no new agreement signed for another fixed-term) the tenant must give the landlord notice if he wants to leave:

The notice must be in writing
It must be delivered at least 4 weeks before the notice period ends or 1 month if rent is paid monthly
It must bring the tenancy to an end at the end of a full rent period. "

Thanks, but the stress that this has caused has led me to throw in the towel and just leave when they want me to leave. It has caused me to miss a couple of days work through the stress and I just don't need it.

I know people will say that they have won, but what can I do.

UPDATE:

They have now agreed to the one month's notice period. Which leads me to believe that I was right and can't be fobbed off. I think its terrible that such untrained people are allowed to work in such positions.
