As far as I'm aware what I put is correct, an item that is not fit for purpose describes when something is faulty or just not good enough to be considered worthy of being what it is, not just cos your mate's got one. Please someone either correct me if I'm wrong or back me up as being right either way.

If you too had looked back just a few pages you would see that I work for Tesco, I have done for over 7 years. I have no problem with people r&ring as Tesco is the one in the wrong for overcharging and if Tesco decides to offer people their money back then they should stick to that, it is after all a bribe as mentioned earlier to stop you from phoning TS.

While you answered the (wrongly assumed by ginjim) "not fit for purpose" part correctly........

Ginjim, had clearly got his policies mixed up, as what he should of said(to cover his mate already having one) was the 28 day returns rule, where you can return your goods for whatever reason

Being a Tesco employee with supposed knowledge of this, you should have spotted the error in gimjims assumption, and merely told him, that Yes, that would be dealt with under the 28 day no quibble returns policy......but you chose instead to waffle on about an irrelevant policy.

I have read every post on this thread from around part 4 onwards.....and I dont need to remember if people work for Tesco's or not, its the incorrect information and waffle that sticks in my mind, and a lot of it seems to come from junior Tesco employees.

Watch out for this guy,,,,,,,claims he's worked for tescos for 7 years....but this was his first post on the thread.

I got a r&r the other day on Old el Paso Tortillas, they were half price but they went through at half a penny more than half price so got r&r. They got all confused when trying to give me 2 and a half pence back! I paid on my credit card so was wondering if there's anything else I can do to get more money back or something?

In posts between those above, you say you can scan items in your dinner hour, and let us know the outcome.

Then on the 2nd of December.....a fresh statement.....

So what is it benjiMORON.....DO YOU WORK FOR TESCO'S OR DONT YOU.....
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

so how does it work out how the next page starts is it by number or length of posts?

Well, sometime if it gets waaay off-topic, or descends into a slanging match, then the mods will close it and open a new one, other times, like now it seems, it is just when they feel like it. Which isn't a bad thing IMO.

Many forums have a policy of closing/restarting threads at around the thousand posts mark - keeps the forum clean. The fact that that last one had gone beyond 3000 is a bit unusual...its normally been threatened with permanent closure way before then

My mistake, I thought ginjim was asking about posts per page not per thread.

Yeah installment 14 did go on a bit didnt it, although I always find it takes a while to settle into a new thread, bit like your favorite jeans, they only feel comfortable once you've worn them in a bit!

New thread, new avatar and sig, I'll see if I can resist the urge to keep changing it this time! ;)

Ah, so it was everyone elses mistake! ;)

You're right, it does give newbies a chance to learn and understand the concept, although generally, they decide not to read it and we get posts like..
    "whats SEL mean?"

    "R&R? whats that then?"

    and my personal favorite...

"so let me get this straight, you buy something and get overcharged they give you your money back and you get to keep the item???"

On a more serious note I recall that someone posted last week that they had been refused R+R due to OOD SEL & HO had supported store manager. They were going to Trading Standards today and just wondered what the outcome was. Has anyone seen a post for this?
