I don't understand it, I am not well known in the stores, had maybe 8 books in Nov/Dec 2005 (from 2 stores over that period, and then didn't bother until Oct 2006 (Is more of a Xmas thing for me because I'm skint!).
This year I travelled further afield and didn't hit where I do my regular shop. First time I went into 1 store found nothing but 2 packs of steak where I was accused of tampering. So I go to a different store pick up definite's in tamperproof boxes and still don't get R&R.
Am better off in the local vicinity as I've never had a problem there, but maybe it's because I am not a regular there for R&R

do you live far from the store if not i would go back there and ask to speak to someone (the manager) explain that you have spoken to head office
but i would keep cool and not get frustrated about it

I live about 40 minutes from store, going back wouldn't be a problem, but I spoke to the manager on the day and it was manager that accused me of abusing their generosity. HO said the store would get back to me regarding refund, they didn't and when I was put through to store after several days waiting DM said manager had told me why I couldn't have R&R and that manager had told HO this.

The most precious items you could ever have or want, but you could never get an R&R on them!

I have just got back from Mr T's with 4 garfield DVD's and 2 Julie Goodyear Books all mispriced as Lower SEL's were displayed.
manager refused R+R say is was an unusual amount to purchase
(I must admit greed got the better of me:mad: )

He advised me to contact Head Office to see if a R+R could be honoured.

After I left the store I thought that I should of at least got a photocopy of the SEL's that he could sign and date for me for head office. So I went back only for him to say " they have been thrown down the recucle bin and are not retrievable"!!!!!

Any one any tips on how to handle head office and what to say?

It may be an unusual amount to purchase but you have so many nieces and nephews that want Garfield for Xmas, and 2 ageing aunts that love Ms Goodyear, and as it's Christmas its not an unusual purchase.
Don't listen to me though I'm bl00dy useless when it comes to this R&R business!
