I would second the votes for Panasonic...but the performance in adverse lighting conditions of this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fujifilm-FinePix-F300EXR-Digital-Camera/dp/B003VTZ7TG/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1304451347&sr=1-1 is really good. Fuji have done some clever stuff with the sensor, which I won't bore you with, but it's in the Amazon link.

For £150-200, you MAY get a DSLR second hand on ebay. That would deffinately fit the bill. But my guess it will be very old and/or almost broken, sorry

I agree with what has been said, and the shots of moving/light and dark etc. That will be something more down to the user to get the best from those shots, but that is a good thnig i think

Anyhow, I sold my DSLR a while ago for various reasons, but a couple of weeks ago I bought a

I must admit that I was blown away by the camera and the quality of the pictures that came from it. Yes I will have to adjust my shot taking skills from the DSLR to this, but apart from that I am VERY happy. This one gets my vote

Is the Argos S1730 a rebranded S1600? That seems to be what I can find on the internet. They're both £99.

Having said that the S1800 is £94:

Select the Amazon seller on the right.

Decided to go with your advice. Went for the S1800.

    Thanks

BTW, my wife has a Lumix TZ10 - paid well over the odds for it early March as I said I'd get it for her birthday which was end of Feb.

I think I'll be happy with my purchase. Thanks all. :)

Panasonic Lumix range gets my vote here.

    Same here.

I've got a TZ7 (which i think is under £200 now), which I love, it's a great camera for everything I've used it for, including taking close ups of models, taking pictures in fairly badly lit conference type centres (I went to the Games Day thing in the NEC last year and took hundreds of pics, most of which came out well despite often poor lighting), and pics outside.

I will admit I didn't pay for mine, it was a prize in a competition, but I know that when I replace it I'll be looking at another Panasonic as my preferred replacement.
