14-day money back guarantee on Three mobile

I have signed up with Three Mobile Broadband a few days ago, which included a dongle. I have now changed my mind, for personal reasons that I cannot explain, which have nothing to do with the company itself and would like to cancel the contract under the 14-days money back guarantee.
This is what the website states:

'If you bought your mobile online or via telesales:

If you’re a new customer who purchased your mobile via three.co.uk or from our own telesales team and for some reason you change your mind, provided you have not used your mobile, you can return it within 14 days of delivery. You'll also ha[/I]ve to return the original boxed accessories and documentation ‘as new’.'

Does the guarantee include contract and dongle, or does it regard the dongle only? Do I wait for them to send the item and then return it, or shall I stop now, before they send it (disptach day is in a week time). Also, shall I inform my bank not to accept any direct debit requests?

Many thanks,

Cristina

As long as you did actually buy it from the internet or over the phone yes you can return it. I'd cancel the DD just to make sure they don't take anything.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

You quoted t&c applying to mobile phones. This is what they say about the dongle.

    Returning your Dongle/ Laptop/ MiFi

    • Return your dongle within 14 days for a full refund
You'll need to call us first on 0844 481 1331 for a returns authorisation number.
    • You can use your dongle but you need to make sure you return everything to us including the dongle, SIM card, cables, documents, packaging and laptop or free gifts if they were included in the offer.
    • You must return everything in 'as new' or 'as sold' condition. You can return your dongle if it has been damaged since you got it.
    Otherwise:
    • You may not get a refund
    • We may cancel your contract
    • You may get charged for anything that's missing or damaged.
    • If you bought a Pay Monthly plan, we'll cancel it as long as the conditions above are met. We may charge you for any services you used at our standard rates.

It looks like you can return it, but you may have to pay for the few days' connection you incur until you return it. Also see the para on getting a returns number first.

Do NOT cancel your DD as this is where they will take any payment for the period you have had the dongle.

You do not want them in 3 years chasing your for £10 or so and marking up your credit record as well - see many posts on here. Bad advice from HappyMJ.

I haven't received the dongle yet. It is supposed to arrive Friday. i would like to cancel the contract before the dongle actually arrive. My reason isn't to do with the item, I have lost a job for which I needed mobile internet, so I have no use for it at all. Is returning the dongle the same as cancelling the contract? Do I have to wait for it to arrive first?
