Pumps at work say a minimum of 2 litres, but nothing stopping you from filling less.

Pumps generally give out more than what it says anyway, had to do a pump test at work a couple of days ago, and the pump said it was 20 litres, but the tank we filled up said it was 20.2 litres. Think thats how they get around the .9p
good job it didnt say 20ltrs on the pump and have 17 litres in the tank imagin the upraw when that got out.

Says who? I bought 900ml once. Haha! (filled it up into a water bottle for my little brothers mini motor adventure.) The guy at the desk did stare at me oddly though. :D

Says the sticker on the side of the pumps at a local fuel forecourt.

Is that the mini motor with the 01 plate? Doh!

Thanks to all with the serious answers. Just to answer those who thought they were being clever with the minimum spend answer though: Whether the minimum fill is 5 litres, 10 litre etc. the fact is you can put in an odd amount of fuel as the pump reads in decimal points. It therefore follows that you can have an odd amount of money owing, yet funnily enough we all pay rounded up/down amounts. My bet is that it is nearly always rounded up and when you do that a few thousand times a day it adds up to a few bob.
