Sorry, got it wrong:o It's just the old git next door, phones the council when the light bulb needs replacing, so I assumed they did everything!! We live in a small "mixed" estate, and the stuff the council tenants get done is unreal!!!!
That made me laugh, we have to phone the council when the bathroom light bulb goes. It's a disabled shower room with a special light, the 1st time it went I felt so stupid having to phone them up cos I could change it but turned out it's made so we can't do it ourselves.september wins - toshiba laptop, timotei shampoo & conditioner, mccains games, pimms picnic blanket.
october wins - grants tumblers, £20 petrol voucher, sega console, iphone
novembers wins - £50 on walkers rainy day, £50 itunes voucher
march wins - dog treats0 -
This guy is not disabled, unless bone idleness and misery is a "condition";) It's just a normal bulb, but he reckons he pays his rent so he's "entitled"

Our council wouldn't replace a light bulb. I've had to replace the 30 year old shower room myself it was completely mank. Not fit to wash the dog in, but the council said there was nothing wrong with it. Cost me £400 for B and q value and £245 for the plumber. My windows are that bad i could put goldfish in them to swim around in them. All i have managed to get out of them is a new shower when the old one died, a radiator and a front door.0

Not quite sure why you deleted your post but based on savings of £30,000 i don't think it would be moral if you were looking for a grant to help your friend.
As she has a lifetime tenancy have you asked what help is available through the landlord but she will be responsible for redecorating and her replacing her own belongings unless it was through no fault of her own and she may be able to come to an arrangement.
The importance of buying home insurance whether renting or buying a home has never been more feasible in this situation especially with the lady having disabilities.Forums can be/are a good guide to entitlement and it is good practice to back it up with clarification from the relevant department/specialist with written confirmation to safeguard yourself.0
