Is it unreasonable to ask Clarks to cover travel costs?

If the shop gives you no joy, then it may be worth ringing their head office. Had a problem with shoddy goods from Tescos recently, shop gave no joy, but head office bent over backwards to help.0

Whether it is reasonable to claim for travel costs will depend on:
1. Whether it is reasonable to travel
2. Whether the cost of travelling is reasonable
3. Whether it is the cheapest method.
If the answer to all 3 is yes, then I do not see a problem. But personally, I think a phone call to Clarks to ask for a returns label would be the better option.Don't bother trying to sue me - I've got no money!0 -
Thanks for replies everyone. As an update, when neighbour took the shoes back, the assistant was so nice and so apologetic that she didn't have the heart to moan about her travel costs after all.0

I bought a cardi for DD from Woolworths a couple of years ago. When I got it home, the security tag was still attached. I rang and asked if it was possible to remove it at home. They said it wasn't because it would stain the garment with red dye. They said I'd need to take it back to get it removed. I asked about who would be paying the bus fair, and they told me to ask at CS when I was instore. When I got there I went and asked and the woman on CS asked how much it was for one-way travel on the bus. I said I didn't know cos I'd got a return ticket, and reluctantly (very, very reluctantly) she refunded my total bus fare.
I thought it was right to expect them to refund the travel money cos it was their fault I had to go back, because they hadn't done their job right.0 -

i once had tesco hand deliver the cashbask that the cashier had failed to give me, asda posted some trousers they hadnt put in the bag, and one of my friends got petrol money from asda when she returned a chicken that was off.
i've also ended up with two left shoes but these were from a market miles away so i couldnt complain.
i think it depends sometimes on who you speak to and how much noise you make!"Don't go where the path may lead,go where there is no path and leave a trail"Anthony Robbins0 -
