TALKMOBILE WEBSITE PROBLEMS .....THE SOLUTION (well it worked for me)

I frustratingly experienced the problem of not being able to purchase a phone & contract due to the last page (credit check payment of 99p) falling over.

You no doubt have found the customer service number they provided, 0870 071 5888, useless if you don't already have a TM mobile number to tap in, which you won't if you're a new customer.
Another number, 0844 873 0333, was also useless as it was permanently set to an 'out of hours' recording.
However, I did have success with 0800 049 4401, where I duly reported the phone number problems - that was 2 weeks ago and nothing has changed with them.

As for the website, they admitted that there was an ongoing problem that their IT team was trying to sort out and that the site has problems with the Firefox I was using, and that Safari would also be a problem - I was told to use Internet Explorer - No joy.
On phoning again (well several times actually), I was told to lower the Security Settings in the Internet Options - I did (plus i switched off the Firewall, and my PC security software) - it still fell over.

Finally, today I decided to ring the Payment Processing company that appears on the final TM screen 'Securetrading'. Their helpful sales team confirmed Talkmobile was a client, but that the client had not logged any problems with them. They put me through to their technical team - unbelievably helpful!! They identified that my IP address had been blocked due to repeated use. They also identified that Talkmobile had at some stage blocked any IP address starting with 90 & 92, and possibly others. They unblocked me and the transaction immediately went through. I really couldn't thank or praise the help I got anymore.

So, the SOLUTION is to REBOOT YOUR ROUTER to force a NEW IP ADDRESS until the transaction goes through - whether it started with 90 or 92.

Failing that, ring Securetrading to unblock you their end.

If this has worked for you, please post a response to help others, like I've hopefully helped you.

    kind regards
