These are quite common in chalet bungalows of which there are a lot where I live. As long as there's a bathroom on each floor I think it's a good arrangement.

My last house had all 3 bedrooms upstairs and the only bathroom downstairs - that was difficult when the kids were young and their bladder control wasn't fully developed. Thankfully I sold in '04 when selling was easy so it wasn't a problem.

Aren't all the rooms on one floor in a bungalow?

Chalet bungalows are basically bungalows with converted roof spaces [some are conversions but some are built like this] so some rooms up there too. Sometimes with dormer windows, sometimes just with roof lights.

Mine is a chalet bungalow, the downstairs bedroom is part of the design. There are loads of them where I live. I think its a bit quirky too but hopefully it appeals to someone, and soon...lol........

Maybe someone with mobility problems? They would definitely see it as a plus.
