In the paper the other day it said Sainsburys drivers have been told they don't have to take shopping higher than the first floor without a lift, the other major supermarkets all said their drivers would.
Whether you'd get that level of service in practice is open to debate, but that's what they're advertising.0 -

Re Sainsburys - I was at the hairdressers last month and they had a delivery of drinks/cleaning stuff. Their kitchen is at the basement level and the delivery drivery said he wasn't allowed to take it downstairs because of "health and safety".
In my previous flat I lived on the third floor (69 steps from street level) and Ocado always offered to deliver to my flat. I always helped them, and sometimes turned them down if they were obviously in a rush and I needed the exercise! I still use Ocado now - I've tried all the others and found them to be the most reliable.
Tesco never offered, not once. When I had a big order I once asked if the driver would help me as he was young and strong looking - he did, but very grudgingly. Anyway, I eventually ditched Tescos when I came home one night to find that they'd been (and gone) early - they had dumped my shopping in the hallway and left a trail of broken beer bottles over the front steps.........0 -
Why not go shopping and get the OH to bring it in from the car?Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0
