It is the pressure to perform the 'perfect' dinner, the 'perfect' presents and be the 'perfect' hostess for one day a year when you are not 'perfect' any other day of the year!!! Yes, pure madness but we all buy into it don't we?!!! xxx0

Well done on your budget victory0

Thanks squiggles, I am proud of it, more so not only that the kids have a great xmas but because of the budget that means they don't have to suffer after xmas and in Jan because we will have money from pay day rather than what we used to do , suffer and pay later!!;)

for the first time ever ive shopped throughout the year this year, filling up on bargains when i spotted them. as ive come to wrap them, ive totted up how much i have spent.
as a fair few of the people we buy for receive a token gift (something decent, but a fraction of the cost of what we spend on others) it is possible to keep costs low. once upon a time i would have spent a good £10 per person on such gifts. this year, ive spent an average of £5 per person, but through smart shopping, forward planning, recycling unwanted/unsuitable gifts and bargain hunting they have received better gifts for less than in previous years when my budget was double what it is now.
just goes to show what you can achieve with a bit of thought :jknow thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -

Hi! I bought the doctor who annual from tesco on sunday... their annuals were 2 for £8 or £4.99 each.. I got the doctor who one and the bratz one for £8 :T hth!
As for DS games.. i got a good offer from gamecollection.net.. 2 £14.95 games
for £19.95 delivered!
here is the link to the page: http://www.thegamecollection.net/products_on_sale.php?offer_id=9&cPath=26
to get 2 for £19.95, the games included in the offer are:
crazy frog racer
meteos
project rub (??!!)
polarium
the rub rabbits
zoo keeper
viewtiful joe
there are games for £27.95, £24.95 AND £19.95 each too on the same page, more well known one like sonic, scooby doo, sims and more, and as long as you pick 2 games that are the same price, it discounts £9.95 off the total for you too.. so all the games listed on the page in the link are on offer really!
something to think about! cheaper than most places!
