offered £20 off at orange for being a 'government worker'
I didn't see this mentioned on the 1st two pages as i skimmed through, basically i went into my local orange store and having heard about orange telesales discounting the san fran by £25 for people that have had an orange sim for 3 months, I asked if she could bring the price down.
It's £95 pounds atm in store (need to add compulsory credit on top) and she told me if one of us worked for a government agency on there list she could knock £20 off it and all they need is a payslip! We had a look on the list for FCO but no luck, then we asked if the local council was on the list, she said yes all councils so we're going to get the san fran (the phone that everybody wants) for £75 tomorrow (£95 with compulsory credit.) This phone already has the specs to blow the competition out the water but at £75 i thought it was worth another mention.
Also on the way out she said it's 20% off there contracts too for the same reason, so i presume products throughout the store are discounted somehow? But she said the promotion might be ending soon, anybody now what its about?

What's the word on it though? Its not advertised but she was keen enough to ask and said we should be quick as she doesn't know how much longer the 'promotion' would last. Bit hush, hush and exclusive for a promotion if they only mention it to those that ask for a discount. We could just as easily have not asked and missed out. Strange.

I know when I worked there (I'm talking about 10 years ago here) that NHS staff got special discounts but it wasnt widely advertised - assume this is the same sort of thing?*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200

I have been told that people working for the below get 25% off contract prices for 5 family and friends. All you need is to show a recent payslip.
NHS
Arcadia Group
Council

does any NHS worker have this discount off the iphone contract, just about to renew and would be great if I could get a discount on the monthly cost.0

For nhs staff do you have to be nurses etc or can you get discount if you work for a pct primary care trust0

Arcadia arent part of the promo, but the PERK list is huge, if youre not sure just ask. It also works if you know someone on the list. Just take in their wageslip (with their permission of course!) and the discount can be applied. Its £20 off a pay as you go phone over £30, 25% off any 24 month contract, including iphones, and 25% off up to 10 accessories! If youre an existing pay as you go customer any Phone Fund will be rounded up to the nearest £5 so the savings at Orange are certainly amongst the best out there at the mo!0

As long as your payslip says "council" or has the council logo it should be fine. It all depends who you speak to, Im sure some members of staff would be more willing to do it than others if they arent sure!0
