Tesco staff ... I take it all back! ..Amazing!

Sorry if i have posted in wrong place but in the past i have had a moan about some of the staff i have encountered but I am fresh back from Tescos and the staff were so amazing and so nice that i had to post this!
I cant believe i did it. I threw my car keys on my front seat while i strapped my son in his car seat and shut the car door and they had landed on the fob and the car had locked itself with my 2 year old inside. I was feeling close to bursting out in tears and rushed in the petrol kiosk bit where i was and asked if someone could break into my car so i could get my little boy out.
They were fantastic 2 male staff tried hard to break in for a good half an hour and a lady member came out with some chocolate buttons for him. They did break in and they were so incredibly nice i just had to post this so hats off to Tesco staff you are wonderful in my eyes!!
Is there anyone at Tesco that can give them a promotion or star of the month or something??!!

I have only ever locked my keys in my car when I have been on my own but it was in Edinburgh outside a customer's:o

I can imagine how scary it must be to be in the position of having a 2 year old locked in your car and I am so pleased it worked out ok.

For future reference the AA got into my car without causing any damage so if anyone else does anything similar call your breakdown service ASAP;)

Ahh that's lovely! Definately phone and tell someone how helpful the staff were - I used to work at Tescos and really appreciated the customers who went to customer services to say that I was cheerful, polite and helpful! :D

i did the same thing years ago but no key fob involved, just held handle up and it locked. My 6 month old was inside so i rang the local police station (not 999) they sent two cars and within ten seconds had the door opened. I was so distraught but they were brilliant. I took them choccys :)

Yes, i was thinking of taking some chocolates for them (do men prefer chocolate or wine?). I rung customer services and they have logged it and it will be passed on.
If it had been a hot summer day it would have been worse.Im just so thankful. Usually my son escapes his chair and tries to open the door while im driving but typical he just wouldnt move!

If you take something along the lines of Celebrations/Mini Heros/Bag of fun size bars, I am sure they will be most welcome.

Most men like beer :) tesco have 2 cases for £16 so you can get the points for them as well ;)
  • Hi I am glad your wee boy is ok after his ordeal, I have worked for Tesco for over 14 years and it's always nice when customers say thanks especially when you have went beyond the call of duty as they say. :T
I always treat customers the way I would like to be treated myself, and that is very nice indeed. :)

  • Thanks for telling us that - fab Tesco staff but also pointing out what you did. I do that all the time with my 2 small kids. I'll keep them in my pocket in the future!!
