  • so its either go back to the stoneage or put faith in a washing machine company that may go bust before the guarantee expires its a hard life for survival for companies in this climat ,noticed john lewis do there own brand based on german engineering with a 3 year guarantee for 299 online ,
    miele is 2 expensive
    bosch seems very attractive but are concerned about parts issues and supply
    hover hotpoint samsung dont want to go there again


    ps love the dolly if i took it home i think the other half would actually put me through it

  • My PCB went on my miele after about 18 months. Initially they wanted something daft like £300 to replace it. I fought my corner and they ended up replacing it for free.

    I guess part of the problem is that many makers now put all the control units on the one pcb rather than having separate pcbs.

    From their perspective it makes repairs quicker- from our's it makes the faster repairs potentially much more expensive given the proprietary nature of the said PCBs.

    There are independent firms that will fix PCBs, I remember phoning one in Alperton- can't remember their name though- sorry.

    From what I can recall it probably would have cost me about £90 to have them fix my PCB went it went bust (might have been less)
