zero excess insurance for us car hire

hello,

booked a car for a 9 day trip to the us this month and the car company offers an excess waiver policy for $26 a day.
Is this expensive and if so is there another way of getting it?
Is it even worth having?

Thanks!

looks a lot cheaper than the waivers offered by the rental company.
    have you used them before?

Don't worry. It's even better than the companies' waiver as it includes things that they don't.

    Hi snowmen,

"Is this expensive and if so is there another way of getting it?"
$26 a day seems expensive, yes. I've just done a quick Google search for cheaper prices and cannot find any cheaper than i Car Hire Insurance right now.

    "Is it even worth having?"
Yes. It'll be a pretty darn expensive trip otherwise should your hire car receive damage of any small proportion.
